What's a markup rate?
A markup rate is an additional commission percentage you can add on top of your standard Plum Guide commission, increasing your total earnings per booking.
Your standard commission is built into the booking price and paid by Plum Guide.
Your markup is added on top and paid directly by your client.
Clients only ever see the total price — never your commission details.
Good to know
Markup rates are only available with Gross payment. The Net payment option won't be available at checkout if you added a markup rate on listing.
You can't currently add a markup rate for clients who book direct.
How to add a markup rate
Log in to your Plum Guide Partner account (you must be logged in to see commission details).
Click “Add a markup rate” in the commission section of any listing.
Enter your desired markup percentage using the +/- controls.
Review the calculation:
Your base commission remains the same.
Additional commission shows your markup earnings.
Total commission shows your combined earnings.
Total stay shows the final price your client will pay.
Click "Save" to apply the markup.
At checkout, you'll see the new total price (including your markup).
Markup rate best practices
Choosing a markup rate
Consider your client’s budget — set a final price they’ll be comfortable paying.
Most advisors use a markup that brings their total commission to 12–15%.
Sharing homes with your clients
Do not share standard Plum Guide links — these will show the original price and cause confusion. Markup rate is a partner-only feature and can only be applied when logged in to your Partner account.
Always use white-label links or PDFs, which hide Plum Guide branding and pricing, and stop clients from seeing the unmarked rate.
