Offering price reductions according to your demand levels effectively helps you achieve more bookings, higher occupancy, and helps reduce the opportunity for guests to further try and negotiate on price - meaning bookings are secured quicker for you.

Here are the promotions you can now offer to Plum Guide guests

  • Early Bird - applicable for bookings made 90+ days away. Use to secure bookings further in advance

  • Last Minute - applicable for bookings within a 5 day lead time. Use to incentivise bookings at short notice, or if you've had a late cancellation to re-fill

  • Weekly - for bookings 7+ nights long. Use to incentivise longer and higher value stays

  • Monthly - for bookings 28+ nights long. Use also to incentivise longer and higher value stays

  • Custom - need to boost a specific week or time frame? Offer a custom discount according to length and date range (i.e. 10% off for 5+ nights from February 10th-25th)

  • Non-refundable - a flat 10% discount for bookings within the next 60 days. See the Non-Refundable promotion section below for more information

How to add a promotion to your home

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Discounts at the top

  • Click Set Up next to the promotion type you want to apply

  • Confirm the % value of the discount, and apply to either all of your homes, or selected homes

  • Click on Learn about discount combination rules to understand how promotions stack if you add multiple at at time.

Non-Refundable promotion

Guests booking with a shorter lead time will be incentivised to book your home over another, if there's also a last-minute price promotion such as a Non-Refundable option.

This is one of the most popular promotions for guests - homes offering it consistently achieve a better conversion rate vs. those which don't.

Consider activating it on a seasonal basis when you need to improve your occupancy rates low/mid season or during peak season when you need to more effectively boost your sales.

How does it work?

  • Guests have the option of a 10% discount if they choose to make their booking non-refundable in case of cancellation

  • Visible only for bookings made within a 60-day lead time

  • This means you can more effectively fill occupancy within the next 60 days, whilst protecting your revenue

  • Guests still have the option to book at your higher, standard rate if they need more flexibility

  • Not applicable if your home is on a strict cancellation policy such as Super Firm 60 or Reasonable 60

How to activate this on your listing

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listings

  • Click Manage next to the chosen home β†’ Booking policies β†’ Cancellation policies

  • Toggle Non-refundable option to apply it
