Instant Book vs Request to Book

Instant Book is a feature that allows users to book the listing/home -instantly. The opposite of this is Request to book.

The differences are that when a home is on request to book you the host will receive a message to accept or decline the booking.
On - instant book, this additional step and the book is automatically accepted.

If the check-in is within 48 hours of the booking (today, tomorrow, the day after) - the instant book feature is automatically disabled, to provide hosts with the opportunity to make sure they can accept last-minute bookings.

Benefits of Instant Book

If you have Instant Book on you get 28% more bookings than homes not on Request to book. We also push your home higher up in the search results if it is on Instant Book. Guests prefer instant book as it offers them more security.

We also automatically offer ID verification of the guest which is conducted by Onfido.

Turning Instant Book On/Off

To turn on Instant Book follow these instructions:

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Added protection with Instant Book on the left-hand side

  • Click on Turn on Instant Book to activate Instant Book

  • Click on the button next to Require ID Verification to activate ID Verifcation

  • Click on Turn off Instant Book to deactivate Instant Book

You can edit these on your Dashboard to do this go here:

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Listing details on the left-hand side

  • Add the data you would like to add

  • Save your changes at the bottom of the page

Child and Infant Friendly Settings

You can edit these on your Dashboard to do this go here:

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Listing details on the left-hand side

  • Select your preferences: Infants permitted (under 12 months), Children Permitted (1-12 years Old)

  • Save your changes at the bottom of the page

VIP Services

You can edit these on your Dashboard here:

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Listing details on the left-hand side

  • Select View or Change under VIP Services

  • Save your changes

Bed and Bathroom Configuration

You can edit these on your Dashboard here:

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Listing details on the left-hand side

  • Select View or Change under Bed and Baths

  • You can edit existing rooms and add additional rooms

  • Save your changes

Adding and Updating Amenities

You can edit these on your Dashboard here:

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Listing details on the left-hand side

  • Select View or Change under Amenities

  • You can edit, update, and add Amenities

  • Save your changes

Regulations

Some locations we operate in require you to obtain and display a unique registration number on your listing.

To see when you need to add a registration number go here

You can add your registration number follow these instructions

  • Go to your dashboard (you must be logged in)

  • Click on Listing

  • Choose the listing you would like to amend

  • Click on Listing details on the left-hand side

  • Add your registration number

  • Save your changes
