At Plum Guide, we use iCal links to synchronise calendars across various platforms. All it requires is to copy and paste a link your Plum Guide calendar link into the calendar settings on all the other platforms your listing can be found on (Airbnb, Vrbo, etc.)

How to find your Plum iCal link:

  1. Log into your host account on our website
  2. Click on the profile icon in the right corner and open the menu
  3. Select Dashboard
  4. Go to Dashboard > Listings
  5. Find the listing that you would like to sync
  6. Select Modify your listing
  7. In the menu on the left select Calendar
  8. Scroll down to the section Sync with another calendar (image below)

9. Select Export calendar and copy the link (image below)

10. Paste your link into the calendar import section of your other platforms. Below are instructions for some of the top sites:

To import a calendar, log in to your Airbnb account on a desktop computer or mobile device. This feature is not available using the Airbnb app.

  1. Go to your dashboard > Listings and select a listing
  2. Click Availability
  3. Click Import Calendar found under Sync calendars
  4. Copy the URL for your other, non-Airbnb calendar into the Calendar address fieldIf you need help finding the calendar address (URL), under How to find the calendar address, choose the type of calendar you’re importing to get more info
  5. Name the calendar you’re about to import
  6. Click Import Calendar

  1. In your reservation calendar, click the Import/Export arrows icon
  2. Click Import Calendar
  3. Give the calendar a name
  4. Select a color to represent the calendar
  5. In the URL field, paste the calendar address.
  6. Change webcal:// to http:// in the URL
  7. Select whether the calendar will block availability
  8. Click Import Calendar

  1. Log in to the extranet and click on the Calendar or Rates & Availability tab and then select Sync calendars. This will take you to your calendar sync overview page.

You can also access the calendar sync overview page via your monthly calendar by clicking on Sync calendar under the calendar.

  1. Click on Add calendar connection. Paste the link from the third-party calendar into the field, and then give the connection a name (e.g. if you’re connecting to Airbnb, you could call it ‘Airbnb’) and then click on Next step.
  2. Copy your iCal link by clicking on Copy link, and then paste it into the relevant field on your third-party calendar – for example on Airbnb’s calendar syncing page. Once you’ve done this, you can go back to your extranet and click Done.

You’ll now see this calendar in your overview of connections. It takes a while for us to finish setting up the connection, so you’ll see the status as Activating while the connection is being set up. Once your calendars are synchronised, the status will change to OK.

5. Every calendar you import will have the Sync now and Remove options. Clicking Sync now will automatically sync the imported calendar. Clicking Remove deletes the imported calendar and stops any syncing.

It is important that you have both exported your Plum Guide calendar into for example Airbnb as well as exported the Airbnb iCal into the Plum Guide calendar settings (you should have already done this during your listing set up). Cancellations due to inaccurate calendars may incur a cancellation fee.
