Can I be paid in another currency?

All our transfers will be made in the currency of the listing. This cuts down on foreign exchange fees and means you get to keep more money.

Can you send me the payment by any other means?

No. In accordance with anti-money laundering procedure, we can only pay you by bank transfer.

Can I have more than one bank account linked to my profile?

Yes, you can have multiple payees linked to your account and assign different listings to be paid out to the different bank accounts. You can add these in your host dashboard under payout preferences. Please get in touch with hosts@plumguide.com if you have any problems.

Why does Plum need my credit card details if I am a host?

In the rare event we need to receive payment from you, we need your credit card to make the process as seamless as possible.

Other platforms don't ask for this as they usually retain the right to draw directly from your bank account. We don't, but instead, we ask for your credit card details.

I don't have a credit card

If you do not have a credit card, please get in touch with the host team at hosts@plumguide.com.

Can I add a debit card instead?

Unfortunately, we do not accept debit cards in place of a credit card.

Business โ€“ do we still need to put in credit card details?

All hosts, both businesses and individuals, need to provide a payment method. However, if you are a management company, rather than an individual, you will have the opportunity to choose to be invoiced instead.

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

Where can I find my security code?

The security code is the final three numbers on the back of your card (four in the case of American Express).

Whose address should I put in here?

You should enter the billing address attached to the credit card.

Will Plum Guide charge me without telling me?

We will never charge you without previously notifying you.

When might Plum Guide charge a Host?

The most common reason that we might need to charge you is if you need to cancel a booking outside the twenty-four-hour grace period. You might also wish to offer a partial refund to a guest if something went wrong with their stay. However, we will never charge your card without first notifying you.

VAT

If you are a business registered to pay VAT, then you'll have a VAT number. Not all businesses will, however, nor will any individuals.

UK-registered businesses can find their VAT number on their VAT registration certificate.

Has tax already been paid on money I receive?

As tax laws vary from country to country, there are certain situations where the payment you receive will already have had tax deducted. It is important to check the legislation of your country to find out whether this is the case.

What's an IBAN?

An IBAN is a number given to you by your bank as a way to transfer money internationally. It's used in most European countries and many other parts of the world.
